I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Lewis University, a Master of Arts in Teaching and Instructional Strategies at Rockford College, and a Doctorate Degree in Educational Research, Technology, and Assessment at Northern Illinois University. I hold an Administrative Certification with PERA training from Concordia University and a certificate in Advanced Quantitative Methods from Northern Illinois University. This is my 18th year in various teaching and leadership roles.
My doctoral work explored issues and advances in mathematical performance, curriculum design, integration of technology in the classroom, response to interventions, and instructional strategies in the classroom. I am competent in processing school data coding, variable transformation, use of various data analytic techniques, and interpreting student growth.
I believe in establishing a strong working relationship with local and school communities and facilitating the integration of initiatives designed to enhance the school environment. I believe it is important to understand the dynamics of interactions across cultures including historical cultural experiences and relationships between cultures in a local community in order to better serve student’s needs.
My vision, as a leader, is to ensure that every student is achieving their maximum potential in an engaging, inspiring and challenging learning environment. I believe in empowering every student to become a life-long learner who are responsible, productive and engaged citizen within the global community. I also believe in preparing students for the 21st Century by engaging all learners in meaningful learning experiences that meet the highest educational and ethical standards in a caring, collaborative learning community supported through partnerships with all staff members, families, businesses, civic organizations, and higher education.
I look forward to building relationships and connections with the Burbank community to enhance the vibrant culture of our school in an effort to provide meaningful learning opportunities for our students.
This is going to be a great 2018-2019 school year at Liberty Jr. High School.
