Hello McCord Families and Friends,
It is with a bitter sweet heart that I sadly realize that the school year is quickly ending. This has been an awesome school year and I have enjoyed each and every moment with my McCord family. I thank you for making my first year as principal of Frances B. McCord School an enjoyable adventure.
As the close of the school year nears, I want to extend a special “thank you” to McCord’s PFC. The ladies in blue have done so much to ensure that your children have had memorable experiences this year! This year, the PFC has hosted assemblies, paid for buses for the all school field trip, and held numerous evening events including a Spring Fling! As you consider ways to become involved in the school community, I hope that you will consider joining the organization and attending our monthly meetings. Your support will be greatly appreciated!
I would be remiss if I didn’t recognize the dedication and fortitude displayed by the teachers and staff of McCord School. They have ensured that McCord is an awesome place to learn, work, and play! You can rest assured that your children are in good hands!
There are several exciting events on our May and June calendars, please take a moment to review them. Our students will enjoy attending the Mustang Rodeo on Thursday, May 30th. Students are encouraged to wear their best western attire! On Wednesday, June 5th, the 6th graders will be celebrating moving on to Liberty with fun and games! All parents and friends are invited to our Award’s Day Celebration! Each grade level will host a grade level celebration. Come out and celebrate the accomplishments of our Masterpieces! You can find the schedule of ceremonies on our webpage; a copy of the schedule has also been sent home. On Monday, June 10th, rain or sun, McCord’s PfC will sponsor the last big event of the school year! Plans are underway for an awesome Field Day!
I am reminiscing about all the great experiences that I have had this school year. I sincerely hope that your children feel the same. Until August, be safe, be happy, and smile.
See you in the fall,
