Burbank School District 111’s very own Maddock 6th grade teacher, Ms. Karen Krzystof-Bansley, was granted a summer fellowship through The Transatlantic Outreach Program (TOP) in Germany. TOP is a non-profit, public/private Partnership between the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and other private German businesses. TOP seeks out the best and most qualified Social Studies and STEM educators and offers them the opportunity to experience Modern Germany while promoting education. The all-expense paid fellowship takes place from July 1st through July 16th. Ms. Krzystof-Bansley will travel throughout Germany. She indicated how often times students have an undesirable impression of Germany because of the Holocaust. She hopes that with firsthand knowledge and experience she will be able to share the positive aspects of life and education in Germany with her students. Burbank school District 111 is proud to have teachers such as Ms. Krzystof-Bansley that reach beyond their realm to provide students with an outstanding education. Congratulations Ms. Krzystof-Bansley!
