Liberty Junior High Registration Dates Liberty

All Liberty students must attend junior high registration at Liberty in addition to verifying information in InfoSnap.  See schedule below.  Informational packets will be mailed to all incoming 7th and 8th grade students the week of August 6.

Invitation to Participate in Back to School Rally bounce
District 111 will be hosting a Back to School Rally again this year on Saturday, September 8 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Liberty Junior High School.  All local businesses and organizations are invited to participate in the mini-vendor fair.  This is the perfect opportunity to advertise your business or spread awareness about your organization. 
Burbank School Grand Opening Burbank School

The Burbank School Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held August 22 at 1:00 pm.  The community has been instrumental in the planning and designing of the New Burbank School.  It is amazing to see the plans become reality!

Liberty Summer Sports Camps sports camp

Liberty Junior High School is offering Summer Sports Camps for incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.  Camps are offered for the following sports:  soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country, and softball.  Click here for more information.

Seamless Summer Food Program lunch

When school is out, thousands of children must search for nutritious meals – and too often these meals cannot be found at home.  USDA’s Summer Food Service Program and Seamless Summer Option help bridge the gap by providing FREE food to children at various sites in the community during the summer.


Liberty Graduation will be Live Streaming grad

Reavis Hosts Youth Soccer Camp Reavis

Reavis High School is hosting a Youth Soccer Camp for Ages 5-14.  The camp will be held at Reavis June 4-7, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm.  The cost is $30.

Burbank School Furniture Available school desk

Furniture from Burbank School will be available to the community on Friday, June 1 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.   Items such as student desks/chairs, teacher desks/chairs, and office furniture will be offered to the community at no charge.  All items are “AS IS” and first come first served.  All items must be taken the same day. 

Gallery 111 - Digital Art Exhibit art gallery

Burbank School District 111's Art Exhibition was held on May 9, 2018.  The artwork of our outstanding artists was displayed and proudly exhibited for everyone to view and admire.  Three winners were selected from each school and those pieces are currently on display in the board room at the Administration Building.  

Maddock is Building a Playground! Kaboom Logo

Help Maddock Elementary School build a playground in partnership with KaBOOM!, Disney, and ESPN!  A total of approximately 200 volunteers is required to build this playground and we need everyone to signup.  

Reavis Dance Team Tryouts Dance Team

The Reavis Ramettes will be holding try-outs on May 21st and 22nd!  All interested students are encouraged to try out.  Pick up a try-out packet in the Athletic Office and have it completed and ready to turn in at the start of our Dance Clinic on May 21st.

Park District Teen Mixer mixer

The next Burbank Park District Teen Mixer is Friday, May 11 at Liberty from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. 6-8th grade students only. $5 at the door with valid school ID.  


Summer Teen Mixers at the Water Park pool

Burbank Park District will be hosting two summer teen mixers at the Burbank Water Park on July 19 and August 16 from 8:15 to 10:00 p.m.  Entrance is $5 at the door for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders only.  Click here for more information. 

Fry School Presents Beauty and the Beast Jr. Beauty and the Beast

Join us for Fry School's production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr.   The show goes on Friday, May 18 at 7:00 pm at Liberty Junior High School.  Presale tickets are $3.00 and tickets at the door are $4.00.  Refreshments will be available for purchase prior to the play.  All proceeds from tickets and concessions benefit the Fry Drama program.

Family Engagement Night Lakeshore

Burbank School District 111 is partnering with Lakeshore to present a fun and educational Family Engagement Night at Tobin School on Wednesday, April 11.  The focus of the evening will be English/Language Arts for Kindergarten - 6th Grade Students and Families.  Click here for more information.

Fifth Annual Multicultural Night Multiculture

Burbank School District 111 is hosting its Fifth Annual Multicultural Night on Thursday, April 26, 2018.  The event will be held at Liberty Junior High School...doors open at 5:30 pm. 

At-Risk Pre-School Screenings pre-school screening

Burbank School District 111 will be conducting a Developmental Screening for 3-4 year old children.  The purpose of the screening is to determine the educational needs of your child.  Qualified personnel will conduct a developmental screening in the following areas:  Motor Development, Speech/Language, Thinking Skills, and Vision/Hearing.



Stickney Township Offers Pre-School and Summer Programs rainbow

Burbank Bash - Alumni Open House Burbank School

Come and join us for the Burbank Bash Wednesday, April 18, 6:30 - 8:00 pm at Burbank School.  This event will be an open house for alumni; a social event in the gym with cookies, punch and tours of the building!

Kindergarten Registration Opens March 5 kindergarten

Burbank School District 111 will be accepting kindergarten registration for the 2018-2019 school year.  Your child must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2018.

Blooming Expressionists Art Exhibition art fair

District 111 is hosting a district-wide art exhibition on May 9 at Prairie Trails Library.  Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade are eligible to participate.  All entries must be submitted by April 3, 2018.  Click here for more information and entry form.


Due to the inclement weather predicted for tomorrow, all District 111 schools will be closed Friday, February 9th.  Twelve month employees must report to work. 

St. Baldrick's Day - March 14 Baldrick

Burbank School District 111 is proud to announce our Fifth Annual St. Baldrick's Fundraiser to raise money to fund lifesaving research in the fight against childhood cancers. Over the past four year our families and staff have raised over $125,000 to help provide a brighter future for children with cancer and this year we hope to raise an additional $40,000 for children in need.

Reavis Dance Camp Fundraiser dance

Reavis Dance Team is hosting their 2018 Dance Camp Fundraiser.  Campers will attend a dance clinic to learn a short routine to perform with the dance team during half time of a varsity basketball game on February 9!  Click here for the flyer and registration form.

The next Burbank Park District Teen Mixer will be held on January 26 at Liberty Junior High School.  Don't forget your school ID and $5 for entry.  

District 111 Spelling Bee bee

Students in 4th through 8th grade competed in the Thirty-fifth Annual Spelling Bee of Burbank School District 111.  The district finals were held on January 17th at Liberty Junior High School.  Mona B. of Tobin School won the honor of being the 2018 District 111 Spelling Champion.  Marwa K. of Burbank School was the runner-up.  The winning word for the spelling bee was “mascot.”

Reavis Cheer Father Daughter Sweetheart Dance dad dance

The Reavis Cheerleaders will be sponsoring a Father Daughter Sweetheart Dance on February 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the cafeteria at Reavis High School.  All District 111 K-6 female students and their dads.

Rock Star Middle School Teachers Carnegie logo

Carnegie Learning has named two District 111 faculty members "Rock Star Middle School Teachers."  Congratulations to Stephanie Sablich at Liberty Junior High School and Amy Paulikaitis from McCord School!   Carnegie Learning asked both of those teachers to blog occasionally about their year working with the updated Carnegie Learning materials.

Young Authors Contest Author

District 111 is hosting a Young Authors Contest again this year.  The contest is open to all kindergarten through 8th grade students and begins December 19.  The Young Authors Contest promotes writing and creativity by encouraging children to write an original story and present it in book form.

D111 Talent Show Video Talent Show

On Friday, December 8, 2017 Burbank School District 111 held its Fourth Annual Talent Show.  The stage was filled with talent from every school.  Almost every seat in the house was filled with family, friends and staff.  We are so proud of all our students that performed in our talent show!

District 111 students will be showcasing their talents on Friday, December 8 at Liberty.  The show begins promptly at 7:00 pm.  Tickets will be sold at the door - $2 for students, $3 for adults.  All proceeds go to the Liberty Drama Club.

Public Service Announcement - Phone Scams Burbank Police logo

The Burbank Police Department has been made aware of a couple of incidents (Phone Scams) over the past couple of days where an unknown individual(s) has called a resident impersonating a loved one or has stated they are holding a loved one for ransom. Both calls seem to have a Carbondale, Illinois phone number. The phone number belonged to AT&T on a prepaid number. However; in both incidents, the calls seem to be originating from Puerto Rico based on the information this department has received.

Liberty Drama Club Presents Little Literature, A Collection of Classic Children's Stories.  The show goes on Friday, November 17th and Saturday, November 18th at 7:00 pm.

All Star Games Update volleyball

On behalf of Burbank School District 111, we would like to congratulate the Liberty Junior High Patriots for their victory in the championship round at the All Star Games Staff Volleyball Tournament.  We would also like to congratulate the Maddock Mohawks for winning the Spirit Award for having the largest crowd cheering on their team.  Thank you to everyone that participated, whether you played on the volleyball court or cheered for your team on the sidelines, it was quite a fun event!  Click here for team picture.

Burbank All Star Games volleyball

The Burbank All Star Games will be held on Saturday, November 4 at Liberty Junior High School.  The staff volleyball tournament will begin at 10:00 am in the gym.  New this year.... a bean bag tournament for one student/one adult teams will be held in the MPR at 10:30 am.

Community Coat Drive coat drive

The Women's Auxiliary Council 14553 of the Knights of Columbus is organizing a community coat drive.   Please donate your gently used coats, scarves, hats, boots, gloves and any winter clothing in all sizes.  The collection boxes will be at Byrd, Fry, Maddock, and Tobin Schools Monday, October 16 through Friday, October 20.  Families in need may pick up items on Saturday, October 21 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Harnew School, 9101 S. On Saturday, October 21, Burbank School District 111 is hosting the Annual Fall Into Fitness Wellness Fair and 5K Walk/Run.  Join us for the entire 5k race or join us for a few laps!  All fitness levels are encouraged to come out and participate.

On Wednesday, September 20, Whole Foods Market in Orland Park will donate 5% of net sales to Burbank School District 111.  This generous donation will be used to offer activities that support a healthy lifestyle for our students, families, and the community.  The more you shop the more we receive back, so stop in and stock up.

District 111 Welcomes New Assistant Principal at Liberty welcome

We are pleased to introduce Dr. Shestine Gesbocker as the new Assistant Principal at Liberty Junior High School.  Dr. Gesbocker joins us from Indian Prairie District 204 with 18 years of teaching experience.  




Town Hall Meetings - Liberty Addition town hall

District 111 is considering building an addition and moving sixth grade students to Liberty Junior High School.  The district would use its bonding capacity to fund the project.  Moving sixth grade to Liberty would alleviate crowding at elementary schools across the district as well as increase efficiency in curriculum.   Click here for more information. 


Reavis HS Fall Arts & Crafts Fair craft fair

Mark your calendars!  The Reavis Fall Arts and Craft Show is Saturday, October 7th from 9 am to 3 pm!  Come and shop for unique gift ideas among hand crafted merchandise and decor, along with some of your favorite vendors.  Concessions are available all day.  The show is hosted by the Reavis Drama Club and all proceeds support their ongoing theatre program.   Click here to view the flyer.

Calling All Future Rams!  Reavis High School's Cheerleading Squad will be hosting a two day cheer camp!  Campers will attend a cheer clinic on September 28 to go over some cheer basics and also learn a routine. Clusters Moms of Multiples, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting mothers of twins, triplets and more, is hosting a Clothing and Equipment Resale on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Oak Lawn Community High School.   

Back to School Rally rally

The Back to School Rally is Saturday, August 26 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Liberty.  We'll be on the North Field outside Door #8.  This is a family friendly event to celebrate the new school year!  Show your school spirit and wear your school colors or spirit wear!
