AERO Therapeutic Center

District 111 Families:

We need your help!  Burbank School District 111 is a member of the AERO Special Education Cooperative, along with 10 other local school districts.  AERO provides comprehensive special education programs and related services to children with disabilities who are residents of its member districts.

AERO has purchased property in Burbank at 76th & Linder, formerly Queen of Peace High School, and has plans to build a therapeutic center, which will allow them to house all of their services and programs at one site.  This new building will serve the neediest students from a diverse population for generations to come.  The cost of the overall project is $50 million.  Last year, the State of Illinois awarded AERO a $25 million grant for the project from the Build Illinois Bond Fund.  These funds have yet to be allocated.

We are asking our families to send a letter to Governor Pritzker requesting these funds be allocated so AERO can move forward with construction plans in a timely manner and open the school in the Fall of 2023.  Click here for a template letter to print, sign, and mail to the Governor.  Your help is greatly appreciated!

Respectfully,

Dr. Franzy Fleck

Superintendent
