From all of us at Burbank School District 111 to all of our amazing Burbank community, we believe every holiday greeting matters, so we shared them all! No matter how you celebrate, may your season be filled with peace, love, and joy.

The Young Authors Contest promotes writing and creativity by encouraging children to write an original story and present it in book form. The contest is open to all students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Submissions are due Thursday, January 8.

Do you have a 3- or 4-year-old ready to learn, play, and grow? McCord Early Learning Center is now enrolling students into our Preschool program! Our classrooms are filled with hands-on learning, friendship, and fun—all in a nurturing environment designed to help every child shine.

The regular meeting of the Board of Education was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

AM and PM Bus Routes have been posted for our Elementary Schools and for Liberty Junior High School. Eligible students should have also received route information via email. A student is eligible for transportation if the student resides 1.5 miles or more from his/her assigned school or must cross a street determined to be a hazardous crossing.

Happy November! Please review the schedule for next week. Monday, November 24 is a half-day of attendance. Elementary students will be released at 11:15 am and junior high students will be released at 11:45 am. The early childhood/pre-k AM session will attend. Parent Teacher Conferences will be held in the afternoon and evening of November 24 and 25. There is no school for the remainder of the week due the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The 2025-2026 Official School Calendar has been revised. We have made some adjustments to better accommodate our families and staff.

We want to reassure you that our schools are safe and welcoming places for every child. Attached is a letter from Dr. Fleck that explains our district’s commitment to providing all students with a free and equal education, regardless of immigration status, and outlines the policies we follow to ensure student safety and support. Registration for the PASS Program (after-school care for students in grades Kdg - 7) will open Tuesday, May 27 at 10:00 am. Registration will include a $55.00 non-refundable fee, which will be applied to the first week next year. In order to complete the registration process, all previous outstanding balances for PASS must be paid in full. Space is limited and on a first come first serve basis.

We are excited to announce that District 111 will be using TalkingPoints to communicate with parents and guardians.  TalkingPoints is a two-way multilingual family engagement platform helping teachers and school leadership stay connected with families via text message.  Next week, you will receive a message from your child’s school regarding TalkingPoints.
