Illinois Acceleration Act 

 

The Accelerated Placement Act requires school districts to provide services to students who are identified as gifted and talented, who demonstrate high ability, as well as all students who may benefit from accelerated placement. 

 

Criteria for acceleration for students in grades Kindergarten through grade 7 include: NWEA MAP scores, Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test, and student profile inventory results.   
 
Criteria for early entrance to kindergarten includes:  kindergarten screening results, social emotional readiness, and student profile inventory results.  

 

Request for Acceleration Consideration

This form is available to parents/guardians requesting that their child be considered for accelerated placement in Burbank School District 111. Accelerated placement refers to placing a child in an educational setting with a curriculum typically reserved for children who are older or in a higher grade level.

 

Upon receipt of this form, a member of the Acceleration Team will contact you to discuss your request for consideration. Submitting this form grants Burbank School District 111 consent to evaluate the student for potential accelerated placement.
