Illinois Acceleration Act 

 

The Accelerated Placement Act requires school districts to provide services to students who are identified as gifted and talented, who demonstrate high ability, as well as all students who may benefit from accelerated placement. 

 

  • Criteria for acceleration for students in grades Kindergarten through grade 7 include: NWEA MAP scores, Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test, and student profile inventory results.   
  • Criteria for early entrance to kindergarten includes:  kindergarten screening results, social emotional readiness, and student profile inventory results.  

 

Parent Request for Consideration 

 

  • This form is available to parents/guardians requesting their child be considered for accelerated placement in Burbank School District 111.  Accelerated placement means the placement of a child in an educational setting with curriculum that is usually reserved for children who are older or in higher grade level than that child. 

 

  • Upon receipt of this form, a member of the Acceleration Team will contact you to discuss your request for consideration for acceleration.  This form constitutes consent for Burbank School District 111 to evaluate the student for possible accelerated placement.
