Bullying Prevention

At District 111, we are committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all students. To address bullying, intimidation, and harassment, we offer comprehensive resources and learning opportunities aimed at building skills for mental health and well-being.

Virtual Learning for Mental Health and Well-Being

We have partnered with Kognito.com to provide students, parents, and the community with interactive, virtual learning environments focused on mental health and well-being. These tools are designed to help everyone in our community recognize signs of bullying, understand its impact, and develop effective strategies to prevent and respond to it.

Through Kognito, participants can:

  • Build Awareness: Learn to identify the signs of bullying and other mental health concerns.
  • Develop Skills: Gain practical skills to intervene and support peers in challenging situations.
  • Enhance Communication: Improve communication strategies to effectively address bullying and support those affected.

Board Policy on Bullying

Our district takes bullying prevention seriously. We have a clear and comprehensive policy, the Prevention of and Response to Bullying, Intimidation, and Harassment, which outlines the procedures for preventing and addressing these issues in our schools.

Key highlights of our policy include:

  • Zero Tolerance: A strong stance against all forms of bullying, intimidation, and harassment.
  • Reporting Procedures: Clear guidelines on how students, parents, and staff can report incidents.
  • Support Systems: Access to counseling and other support services for victims of bullying.
  • Consequences: Disciplinary actions for those found guilty of engaging in bullying or harassment.
